Maximum Payload.
Our retrofit components can increase the permissible gross vehicle weight and improve driving comfort.
Many motorhome owners are familiar with the problem: the 3.5-tonne limit is quickly reached – often long before the vehicle is fully loaded and ready for a trip. Modern motorhomes now come with extensive standard equipment, powerful safety and driver assistance systems, as well as additional comfort options, all of which gradually increase the unladen weight. Fresh water, camping equipment, bicycles, rear carriers or, in the case of pickups, heavy living units and industrial attachments add to this. As a result, the legally permissible gross vehicle weight is often already exhausted before passengers and luggage are even on board. Overloading can have serious consequences: it impairs handling, leads to fines and may be considered grossly negligent conduct by insurance companies. The solution lies in a professionally performed payload upgrade. However, with a product from the Goldschmitt brand, it is about much more than simply increasing axle loads or weight ratings. Our aim is to further develop the entire chassis in terms of its function and create a confident, comfortable and stable driving experience – regardless of whether it is a compact motorhome, a luxuriously equipped premium-class motorhome or a commercially used van.

Compatibility may vary depending on the vehicle model, drive type and body type. Various products are available for a payload upgrade, depending on the vehicle type.
To help you load your vehicle in the future in a similar way to the deliberately exaggerated image shown here, we would like to support you with a professional payload upgrade. Our solutions create technical reserves, improve handling under load and ensure that additional payload does not come at the expense of safety, stability or legal compliance. This means your motorhome remains confidently controllable even when fully loaded – practical, comfortable and reliable.

Payload upgrades with expertise:
Safety, comfort and stability in focus.
There are numerous payload upgrades on the market, primarily aimed at meeting formal requirements or achieving the highest possible weight ratings. However, what looks attractive on paper often reveals significant weaknesses in actual driving conditions: chassis components are not sufficiently coordinated, driving dynamics suffer and the advertised axle loads can often barely be used in practice – for example, because the weight distribution is unsuitable or individual components reach their limits. The race to achieve ever higher figures also leads to tempting offers that initially seem convincing but later turn out to be costly misjudgements. At Goldschmitt, we deliberately take a different approach. For us, a payload upgrade is not merely a question of figures, but a responsible technical task. What matters is that the vehicle remains safe, stable and predictable under real-world conditions. That is why we only implement weight ratings that are dynamically sensible and technically responsible. This commitment has a long tradition at our company: back in 1992, we were the first provider to carry out a modern payload upgrade of this kind and have been regarded ever since as the inventor and technological pioneer in this field. To ensure that our solutions meet the high demands of everyday use and practical applications, we consider the entire chassis as one unit. A Goldschmitt product is only approved once the suspension, damping and wheel-and-tyre combination work together harmoniously. Depending on the model, this may involve reinforced or additional Coil Springs, Leaf Springs or innovative Air Suspension Systems – always with the aim of noticeably improving stability, comfort and safety.

A key difference from many market offerings lies in the holistic approach: Goldschmitt is one of the few providers to offer a genuine all-inclusive package. This includes not only the payload upgrade itself, but also combines well-founded expertise in suspension optimisation, specially developed and highly load-bearing Alloy Wheels and the corresponding payload upgrade certificate. All components are technically coordinated and work together as an integrated system to ensure maximum safety, comfort and legal compliance.
