Underneath the body of a motorhome, there is usually a conventional van chassis – but its design often does not meet the requirements of a wide motorhome body or a professionally operated special-purpose vehicle. In motorhomes in particular, the combination of a tall body and a raised centre of gravity results in a narrow track, which can affect the driving experience, especially in crosswinds, ruts or on uneven roads. Operators of commercial vehicles, ambulances and municipal service vehicles face similar challenges. Goldschmitt wheel spacers compensate for these design differences by precisely adapting the track width of the base vehicle to the vehicle geometry. They are installed between the wheel hub and the wheel rim flange, creating a solid foundation for confident and comfortable handling. This technology not only contributes to harmonious proportions across the entire vehicle, but also has a noticeable impact on stability and driving safety – an advantage that benefits both private customers and commercial users.

Compatibility may vary depending on the vehicle model, drive type and body type. The scope of delivery includes two wheel spacers with vehicle-specific mounting bolts. The wheels are installed using the original wheel bolts.
Motorhomes often have a comparatively narrow track and are therefore particularly sensitive to crosswinds – driving stability can suffer significantly as a result. Our wheel spacers not only give your vehicle a more distinctive appearance, but above all ensure noticeably smoother and significantly more stable handling.
Optimised vehicle dynamics through a wider track.
Goldschmitt wheel spacers, manufactured to precise standards, significantly improve overall handling by moving the wheels’ contact patch outwards. This design adjustment reduces body roll and lateral inclination, resulting in noticeably calmer road behaviour, particularly with tall motorhome bodies. At the same time, straight-line stability is improved, meaning fewer steering corrections are required – a decisive advantage on long holiday journeys, as well as in the daily operation of emergency vehicles or transport fleets. The increased leverage at the axle also supports the suspension, allowing it to absorb road irregularities more gently. This contributes to greater comfort and safety without requiring extensive structural modifications to the chassis. Our solutions therefore optimise driving dynamics in a wide range of situations and enable more confident overall vehicle handling.

High-quality materials and durable construction.
Our wheel spacers are made from a specially developed, high-strength aluminium alloy designed specifically for durability, corrosion resistance and low weight – a significant advantage for motorhome owners who use their vehicles in a wide range of weather conditions, as well as for operators of commercial and special-purpose vehicles who rely on robust and permanently reliable components. Each of our wheel spacers undergoes comprehensive testing in accordance with European standards, including detailed fatigue-strength analyses of all components that work together with the wheel spacer. In addition, we offer our systems in various material thicknesses and configurations to enable precise adaptation to a wide range of base vehicles – from classic motorhomes and municipal service vehicles to specialised emergency vehicles. Thanks to their precise-fit construction, the solutions can be installed without extensive effort and immediately deliver a noticeable improvement in driving stability, comfort and vehicle appearance. The result is a functional and permanently durable system that contributes to the vehicle’s safety, precision and confident road handling for many years.
The comparison image clearly illustrates the positive effects of a wider track: As the thickness of the wheel spacers increases, the vehicle’s appearance changes, allowing the often narrow-track chassis to be harmoniously adapted to the wide motorhome body. At the same time, the suspension characteristics are also positively influenced.
