Levelling with style.

Drawing on our many years of experience since the early nineties, we consistently follow the philosophy of a central power unit. The hydraulic pump forms the heart of every levelling system. The advantage is clear: components such as the motor, relay, tank, and pump are only required once. This saves weight and installation space, reduces the effort involved in fitting, and simplifies servicing. At the same time, potential sources of failure are kept to a minimum — ensuring maximum reliability in everyday use. And looking to nature: humans and animals also get by with just one “pump”. A principle that has proven itself throughout the ages.

The HLC® Smart remote control operates wirelessly via an integrated Bluetooth interface. This allows levelling to be conveniently controlled both from inside and outside the vehicle. An LED backlight with an integrated light sensor ensures optimal operation in all lighting conditions, automatically adapting to the surroundings. Using the standard control unit, the vehicle can be levelled either fully automatically or manually. Additionally, individually programmable positions are available, for example for a comfortable sleeping position or for targeted tank drainage.

The smartphone app features an intuitive user interface that enables easy control via the touchscreen (automatic/manual) and monitoring of the levelling status. The app also has the major advantage of presenting the controls in a graphically enhanced way, with functions displayed even more clearly. Status and error messages are also shown as text notifications. Furthermore, the app allows you to set up an immobiliser, retrieve live data and the event log, and make various settings such as language selection, calibrations, PIN definition, and more.

Goldschmitt’s hydraulic levelling systems are more than reliable thanks to their quality and the precise interaction between hardware and software, and are only very rarely affected by faults. Nevertheless, we want to give our customers the assurance that, even in the rare event of a system failure, they can restore the vehicle’s roadworthiness. For this purpose, our electric emergency release is available. This allows an emergency lowering to be carried out safely and conveniently from the driver’s seat. This is made possible by an adapter fitted to the hydraulic power unit between the oil distributor and the oil connections. The adapter features an integrated switching valve and can be connected to a cigarette lighter via a power cable. When plugged in, the switching valve is opened by the electrical impulse, allowing the oil to flow back into the oil reservoir. The vehicle’s own weight pushes the pistons upward. The hydraulic cylinders can then be pushed in manually by hand.

Alongside Goldschmitt, there are several other providers on the market offering a wide variety of levelling systems. However, a perfect all-in-one solution does not exist. Every system has its own strengths — what one lacks, another provides. A system that combines all advantages is barely achievable from a technical standpoint. It is therefore all the more important to set the right priorities. We are convinced that the features of our HLC® Smart come particularly close to meeting the requirements and wishes of our customers. The HLC® Smart stands out above all for its high ease of use and exceptional installation friendliness. The waterproof power unit can be mounted directly onto the vehicle chassis, eliminating the need for complex cable or line routing into the interior. Combined with the wireless Bluetooth control unit, installation is significantly simplified. Additional convenience is provided by the free smartphone app, which gives access to numerous functions such as diagnostic tools, calibrations, and individual language settings. At the same time, a standby current of 0 milliamperes ensures that no energy is consumed in standby mode — a clear advantage for the battery during longer periods of non-use. A further plus point is the central hydraulic power unit. Since all components are only required once, not only the weight and space requirements are reduced, but also the installation and servicing effort. Potential sources of failure are simultaneously kept to a minimum. Last but not least, the well-thought-out design with top-mounted hose connections ensures a particularly safe routing of the hydraulic lines and minimises the risk of damage.

The weight of hydraulic levelling systems cannot be stated as a blanket figure due to the different vehicle models, sizes, and weight classes. Depending on the vehicle and body type, the operational weight of the HLC® Smart is approximately 76 kg (dry weight approx. 70 kg). This figure already includes all components required for operation: the hydraulic power unit, the bracket set for underfloor mounting (for the Fiat Ducato series chassis), four hydraulic cylinders (design and length depending on application), four levelling leg brackets, eight hydraulic hoses (lengths variable), 6.5 litres of hydraulic oil, and the remote control. Please note that there are no uniform specifications or standards for the weight data of hydraulic levelling systems. We therefore recommend carefully checking and, where appropriate, critically questioning the information provided by other manufacturers.
