Innovative hydraulic cylinders for maximum stability.
The HLC® Smart hardware provides the foundation for a secure and stable stance for your vehicle. All components are consistently designed for durability, high load-bearing capacity, and reliable operation—whether for private motorhome use or demanding commercial applications. The central elements are the four hydraulic cylinders, which are available in different variants and lengths depending on the vehicle type and can support up to 10 metric tons per leg. Unlike many other systems, the hydraulic connections on the HLC® Smart are located at the top of the cylinder. This is made possible by a hollow piston rod through which the hydraulic oil is safely recirculated when the lift supports retract. This design also protects the connections from external influences and optimizes the installation on the vehicle. The robust construction of the cylinders ensures smooth, controlled movement, reduces twisting of the vehicle frame, and provides long-term protection for the body. In combination with the central hydraulic unit and the integrated control electronics, this creates a precisely coordinated overall system that minimizes mechanical stress and ensures a high level of safety.

The hydraulic power unit—centralized, compact, and well-designed.
The HLC® Smart features a centrally mounted hydraulic unit in which the valve block, oil tank, hydraulic pump, motor, and control electronics (ECU) are integrated into a single, sealed, water- and dust-tight housing. This consistent centralization bundles multiple functions into a single component. This significantly reduces the number of external components and minimizes potential leak points. At the same time, the compact design ensures lower system weight and increased operational reliability. Thanks to its water- and dust-tight design, the hydraulic unit can be installed both inside the vehicle and underneath it. This eliminates the need to drill through the motorhome’s bodywork for hydraulic lines. This saves valuable storage space and facilitates integration into various vehicle types. The design also allows for pre-installation on the vehicle frame, which is particularly in demand in the OEM sector. This also significantly simplifies retrofitting. When switching vehicles, the system can be quickly removed and transferred to another vehicle. The integrated control electronics and wireless operation further reduce installation and wiring efforts. The result is a low-maintenance, robust overall design developed for use under real-world conditions—from high summer temperatures to winter cold, and from dusty parking spaces to humid environments. The central hydraulic unit thus exemplifies Goldschmitt’s technical philosophy: well-thought-out design, high reliability, and maximum suitability for everyday use.

Innovative system architecture for secure installation and a long service life.
Protected cable routing for high operational reliability.
A key design feature of the HLC® Smart is its protected and tear-resistant hose routing. Unlike conventional double-acting differential cylinders, both hydraulic connections are located at the head of the HLC® cylinders. This eliminates the need for hose connections in the lower, particularly exposed area of the vehicle. All hydraulic lines can be routed along the vehicle frame in such a way that they are reliably protected from external damage even under demanding operating conditions—such as on unpaved roads or off-road. This design solution significantly increases operational safety and contributes significantly to the long service life of your lift support system.
A well-designed assembly concept for easy integration and efficient installation.
The HLC® Smart was developed with our customers’ requirements and preferences in mind—and, in particular, in close consultation with our experienced installers—and is specifically designed for easy installation and maintenance. Its central component is the compact hydraulic power unit, which integrates the motor, relays, tank, pump, and control electronics into a single unit. Thanks to its water- and dust-tight design, the unit can be mounted under the floor, eliminating the need to cut through the motorhome body to route hydraulic lines. This preserves valuable storage space while significantly simplifying integration into various vehicle designs. For many common chassis—such as the standard Fiat Ducato chassis and structurally identical models from Peugeot, Citroën, and Opel—prefabricated mounting kits are available for installation between the cross members. Suitable mounts for underfloor installation are also available for vehicles with AL-KO low-profile frames. The hydraulic cylinders are securely attached directly to the vehicle frame using specially developed brackets.

This well-thought-out system design deliberately keeps installation effort to a minimum. Plug-in couplings further simplify installation and reduce the amount of work required in the workshop. Further simplification is achieved by integrating the control electronics directly into the hydraulic unit and by wireless operation via Bluetooth. The result is a cohesive overall system that makes the HLC® Smart one of the easiest-to-install and maintain leveling systems on the market—suitable for private use in motorhomes as well as for demanding commercial applications.
An overview of the benefits and quality features of the HLC® Smart.
Central Hydraulic Unit
The HLC® Smart features a central hydraulic unit that integrates all essential components, such as the motor, relays, tank, and pump. This integration means that each component is required only once, significantly reducing system complexity. Fewer individual components result in lower susceptibility to malfunctions, a lower overall weight, and reduced installation and maintenance requirements. The result is a reliable, durable system that was developed specifically for demanding applications in motorhomes as well as in commercial and specialty vehicles.
Integrated Control Electronics
In the HLC® Smart, the control electronics are integrated directly into the hydraulic power unit. This eliminates the need for a separate control unit and the associated installation and wiring effort. Careful attention was paid to reducing the number of cable connections in both the control panel and the ECU to minimize potential sources of error. This compact system architecture increases operational reliability, simplifies installation, and ensures a solution that is particularly easy to service.
Waterproof Hydraulic Power Unit
The HLC® Smart’s water- and dust-tight hydraulic power unit is ideally suited for installation under the vehicle. This mounting position saves valuable interior storage space and allows for complete pre-installation on the vehicle frame, for example in an OEM setting. At the same time, the sealed design offers reliable protection against moisture, dirt, and splashing water. This makes the unit ideally suited for year-round use under real-world travel and operating conditions and also allows for simple and straightforward retrofitting.
Integrated sensors for precise leveling
A sensor system integrated into the system provides the basis for fast and precise leveling. It reliably detects the vehicle’s position and ensures that all lift supports are in firm contact with the ground. Combined with the intelligent control logic, this enables the vehicle to be aligned in the shortest possible time without damaging the body. The sensor system is firmly integrated into the system and operates fully automatically in the background—ensuring a secure stance and a high level of comfort in a wide variety of parking spaces.
Demolition-Resistant Cable Routing
On Goldschmitt lift support systems, the hydraulic connections for the cylinders are located in the upper section. This design allows for protected, tear-resistant routing of the hydraulic lines along the vehicle frame. Compared to systems with bottom-mounted connections, the risk of damage from ground contact, dirt, or external influences is significantly reduced. This increases operational safety and contributes significantly to the longevity of the entire system.
0-ampere quiescent current
In standby mode, the HLC® Smart consumes no standby current. When connected as recommended, power consumption remains at 0 mA, which reliably prevents the vehicle battery from discharging even during extended periods of inactivity. This feature is the result of the system’s well-designed architecture and electronics and offers motorhome owners, in particular, a high degree of safety and practicality for everyday use.
EMC-certified according to ECE R10
All Goldschmitt brand lift support systems are tested for electromagnetic compatibility in accordance with ECE Regulation R10 (UN-R 10). This EMC certification ensures that the system operates reliably without interfering with other electronic components in the vehicle or being affected by external interference. This is an important consideration for modern motorhomes as well as for sensitive commercial applications.
Electric Emergency Unlocking
The HLC® Smart comes standard with an electric emergency release that allows the vehicle to be lowered safely—even in the event of a system failure—enabling the driver to continue the journey. The emergency release is conveniently activated via an electrical pulse from the vehicle’s cigarette lighter. When the plug is inserted, the pulse opens the control valve, allowing the oil to flow back into the reservoir. The vehicle’s own weight ensures that the pistons are pushed upward. The hydraulic cylinders can then be retracted manually. This allows the lift stands to be reliably retracted even in the event of a power failure. This solution further enhances operational safety and gives the user a reassuring degree of control.
