The anti-roll bar is a central chassis component that significantly reduces the lateral lean of a vehicle when cornering, thereby making a major contribution to active driving safety. The curved round bar connects the wheels of an axle and is mounted at its centre so that it can rotate on the vehicle body. This design makes it possible to selectively compensate for differing compression movements of the wheels: while the outer wheel tends to rebound, the anti-roll bar simultaneously supports the compression of the opposite wheel. This noticeably reduces the vehicle’s body roll – a decisive advantage for motorhomes, which are particularly susceptible to lateral lean due to their high body structure. On symmetrical road irregularities such as speed bumps, the spring characteristics are fully preserved, as both wheels compress or rebound simultaneously.
