It plays a central role in automotive engineering: It supports the vehicle’s weight, compensates for road irregularities, and ensures balanced, safe handling. Its spiral design allows for precise, controlled deformation under load and ensures that the vehicle remains stable even under high loads. Reinforced coil springs for the front axle
For van chassis, McPherson struts—a combination of a shock absorber and a coil spring—are typically used on the front axle. With heavy bodies, the standard springs can become overloaded. Goldschmitt offers reinforced coil springs that replace the original springs, raise the rear of the vehicle, and optimize spring travel. This results in smoother handling, more stable road holding, and significantly improved ride comfort.
Additional coil springs for the rear axle
Most vans come standard with leaf springs on the rear axle. To support heavy bodies, additional coil springs are used here. They are mounted on top of or next to the existing leaf springs, gently relieving the load on the standard springs and ensuring that even heavy loads are reliably supported. This increases stability, raises the rear end, and noticeably improves suspension travel—for controlled handling and greater ride comfort.
